The big beacon of "BBQ Ribs" is something of an island in an otherwise residential section of Jamaica. Wandering three or four minutes east of the much busier Sutphin Blvd brings you here, an often crowded steam table southern restaurant doing mostly takeout. One small table with four chairs sits in the middle of the space so that folks coming from afar can sit down and eat here.
Besides the namesake ribs, they have fried chicken and fish, turkey wings, smothered chicken, chopped (somewhat Carolina-style) barbecue, and a whole range of standard sides on the steam table.
The lunch special is hard to beat, for $6.99 you are given the choice of one of six meats, one side, a homemade lemonade, and a slice of corn bread. The selection below includes their chopped barbecue, which is smothered with a sweet sauce.
I could not resist adding a small banana pudding ($2.75, not shown). The upload keeps rejecting it for some reason (are the wafers being mistaken for breasts?), and it is not worth recommending anyways. Has anyone had the ribs here?
