BANGLADESH 🇧🇩
While the menus of Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi foods do indeed overlap to a point, you rarely find a restaurant in New York City that specializes in Bangladeshi food and caters directly to the Bangladeshi community. The people from this country are as much or more of a presence in the city as their counterparts, and their cuisine is no slouch either.
Khaabar Baari is a new restaurant that has quickly become a hub of this community, with an underground events space for meetings, a large formal dining room for groups and parties, and an upstairs casual dining space that always seems to be thronged with families.
When I dined here, it was part of a large group event, so you will see a buffet of options, but most everything here is on the menu and can be ordered in individual portions.
