ITALY 🇮🇹
As most readers of this blog know, I focus on world eats that never take more than $20 from your pocket on a visit, tax and tip included. But I also like to break my rule every once in a while, if the place happens to offer something very special, authentic, and worthy of its higher price.
Locanda is a very cute little space housed in the old Lewis Drugstore, specializing in Italian "countryside" cuisine. The menu is especially diverse and thoughtful, and everyone that works here seems to have a keen knowledge of all they offer; food, wine, and other. Specials change each week, but many delicious options are always available.
A perfect meal might be something like the olive sampler ($10), the crostini plate ($12), wild boar carpaccio with roasted mushrooms ($10.75), eggplant, goat cheese, and basil ravioli ($14), and the spicy seafood guazzetto with cherry tomatoes ($26). Is there room for dessert?
